Minus One gives you a unique opportunity to see contemporary art in the most unconventional environment - an underground station. Visitors to the disused Aldwych tube station between 28 and 31 January will be welcomed by works as diverse as film, photography, painting, sound and edible installation by thirty artists working in the UK and abroad.

The station, which served as a storage space for art works from the British Museum during the WWII, opened as Strand in 1907 in a building where the Royal Strand Theatre previously located. Although its red-bricked facade still carries the name "Strand Station", it was renamed to Aldwych in 1915 and remained so until it was closed in 1994. During the Minus One art event, the abandoned space will be revived with artistic spirit.
